About Ericeira
Like many seaside resorts throughout Portugal, Ericeira has also been developed over the years, with new buildings popping up regularly. However, unlike many of these other 'resorts' Ericeira maintains its charm and allure with ease.
Ericeira isn't a resort, it is nothing like, say, the Algarve (South). It's a mellow place, with laid back cafes, narrow, cobbled streets, siesta vibes, fisherman tending to damaged nets. It also has a bustling market, rammed to the gunnels with every kind of large, locally caught fresh fish and locally picked fruit and vegetables.
If you like eating fish you will love this place. They know how to cook fish here, there's lots of it and there are a variety of dishes, the seafood stews being the local specialty.
After a hard days surfing, hanging out on the beach, or site-seeing, there's nothing like stuffing yourself with the tastiest fish dishes and washing it down with an ice cold Super Bock!
